Dominated by the wall-o-books on one side, plenty of candles, hasn't yet had every available inch covered with posters, pictures, paintings and other random decorations, but only because I'm not long moved in, and have been busy.

Like the rest of my house, its "normal", a requirement of my wife's.  The exception is the light blocking curtains, which make the room almost completely dark during the day.  The only area I get to really make my own is my desk.

Mine is what you would call normal - I don't see it that much anyway as the lights are out or my eyes are shut...Now my den - that's a whole new story

Mine is a really deep dark purple... with black door frame and window ledge. I have a hot pink radiator, a winnie pooh rug and a double black iron framed bed with a table to match!

It's usually quite messy but i do TRY to keep it relatively tidy lol

Deep purple walls and ceiling with pewter/old silver glosswork. The furniture is all bleached willow wood which gives it a kind of moonlit glow against the dark paintwork. The bed is a four poster, hung in purple to match the walls, with matching floor-length curtains at the window. All the bedding is purple trimmed with silver(I know it's somewhat repetitive)and my Cheshire Cat has pride of place on the pillows

The window itself has a woodland night scene covering it(I was bored,it was late and I had lots of half bottles of glass paint needed using up) and the windowsill is a cluttered jumble of random crystals, fossils, interesting looking bits of stone,wood,bark,feathers...you get the picture

One wall has full length, floor to ceiling bookshelving-which still doesn't give me enough room for all the books,so there's neat piles along at the foot of the shelves The opposite wall, aside from the compulsary wardrobe and chest of drawers(the top of which is another jumble of knick-knacks found in the woods,on beaches,at jumble sales, made for me by friends, etc)also has my workbench, which is set for far too many different things

Otherwise.....there's windchimes/mobiles and chinese laterns(all in white, silver, purple and/or blue)hanging everywhere from the ceiling(and a few along with some home-made dream catchers hanging inside the bed canopy)...large pillows scattered over the bed and floor...my rocking chair with it's back draped in different scarves(another thing I collect)over by the window,by a carefully cleared corner of windowsill holding my favourite hurricane lamp(for night reading)and space for my coffee cup...more scarves and shawls draped everywhere they won't actually catch fire from one of the various candles or incense sticks...various pictures painted by different friends hung around the three walls not hidden by books...odd shelves with other bits and bobs folk have made me over the years...but usually tidy for all that
