1. People who go into the "10 items or less" line at the grocery store knowing they have well over that limit! Lady who was in front of me had over 50 items (no, wasn't counting, but I could see on the screen as the clerk rang her up). Even worse, why didn't the clerk direct her to another line? Only think I can think of is that maybe she didn't see her until she had the goods on the belt, and it would have taken longer to have her put it all back. That makes me wonder if this woman does this on a regular basis, and knows if she sneaks in and loads up her stuff, they aren't going to tell her to use a different line.
2. People who insist on talking on the cell phone while driving! I have a rather long commute, and every day I'm having to dodge someone who has pulled out in front of me or is trying to move in to my lane without realizing I'm beside them, because they are on the cell phone. I swear...once the cell phone is up to one's ear, people forget that they have the ability to turn their head!
3. People who dis me simply because of my appearance. I'm goth...deal with it. I'm happy with the way I look, so leave me alone!
4. People who think they are more important than everyone else. We have one of those on our team at work. He thinks he can set his own schedules, do as little work as possible, etc. and continue to pull in his 6-figure income!! He doesn't care who he steps on to get things his way!
That is just a few of mine. What really irks you?
2) People who don't appreciate the little things: I'm not going to put my life on the line for you. I'm not going to carve your name into my chest. I won't do it because I dont care.
3) Tapping: I hate when people tap on things or clap when they give you orders.
4) Stupidity: I think this one can speak for it's self.
What justice have you brought us?
1) Hypocrites: From the time you are born, people tell you to be who/what you want to be. They say that the only person that can judge you is yourself. Even your parents say you should be your own person and original. If that is true, why can't they accept who you are? Why would you go out and buy me 7 neon pink shirts, when I told you I didn't like them. I can't be who you want me to be. Either accept it or step out of my life.

Would have to agree with all of these...especially #4. Stupidity seems to run amok these days!!!
Oh, and my mom was definitely one of those you describe in #1! When I would come home crying because the kids were being mean to me when I was younger, I would hear all the crap about not worrying what others thought about me, etc. Then, when I got into my teens and settled into my own style (of course this is going to age me...but it was punk/new wave...which later became goth), MY MOM was the first one to be on my case all the time about how I looked! If I tried to act like her opinion didn't matter, there was hell to pay...let me tell you! This, from the same woman who told me not to worry about what others think of me!

Exactly. I'm still 13 and kind of young. My mother says she likes the goth style and stuff but she says that to be cool. I bought 1 shirt and she started yelling, saying I shouldn't be so Satanic and what not. She also said that I shouldn't want to wear black all the time. If she was smart enough, she would know that in her Bible, black is the color of leadership. She's aways saying "you dont want people to think of you that way."

I have 3 kids...19, 15, and 11. I've always encouraged them to find their own style, and to not care what others thought. My oldest, unfortunately, gave into peer pressure while in high school, and ended up giving herself and ulcer trying to please everyone so that she could be one of the popular girls. She was popular, but what price did she pay for it? Now that they are graduated, she hardly talks to any of those people...says there is just too much drama these days!
My 15-year-old son is a definite leader! He doesn't give in to what others say he should be...he is very comfortable with who he is! He is popular, but mainly because he is one of the star football players...again, something he does because he has a pure love for the game (and he likes to slam people into the ground). He is sporting a mo-hawk right now, because it is simply something he wanted to try, so I let him.
The youngest still hasn't found her own style or place in the world yet, but she is still young. She has her own issues dealing with her mother (she is my husband's child from his first marriage), who is trying to make my step-daughter into what SHE wants, not what my step-daughter wants.
And one pet peeve I almost forgot...LAZY PEOPLE! Is it too difficult to earn your own way in life?
Agree to what U guys are saying . But don´t think it will get better when U get older if U are different
! Don´t know how many times the rat has felt those eyes in his back and overheard comments behind his back from those so called "normal" people ( = normies) when they think the rodent can´t see or hear´em , or they just stare like retards while passing by . And the rodent get´s to hear something like = Isn´t it time for U to grow up and be an adult . . U just can´t walk around like that at U´r age . . ? ? ? ! ! ! Or they think U´r into drugs and not working and can´t take any responsability whatever when U´r dressed up/look like the rat . Ratz has friends in the same subculture who have familys , and those normies seems to think they can´t be good parents because of that . The rat is proud to belong to the subculture he belongs to and dosen´t give a shit what those people think about him anylonger . If they don´t like it , its their problem not the rodents . But it´s getting better here in Sweden ( don´t know what´s like in the US ) and we´re getting moore accepted now compared to a couple of years ago as people ha discovered that we are humans too and can work and take responsabilty as good as anybody else , we´re just choosing another lifstyle/look . . and if U love U´r subculture U will stick to it U´r whole life . But there´s still idiots out there stareing , wispering , hiding behind their curtains while watching U passing by . .
! And about lazy people , the rat is sometimes getting a bit pissed off at those slackers because it´s always somebody else ending up doing their job . . but t hey still want the cash . .

I hear ya, Ratz! The lazy people at my job are really getting on my last nerve lately, especially with the boss out of the country. It is the end of the quarter, and end of the quarter always means a lot of work to do. Myself and one other person are the only two who have even been showing up to the office the last couple of weeks. Our highest paid guy complains all the time about how much he has to work, and he "works" the least number of hours of all of us! When he does finally show up to the office (anywhere from noon to 3 p.m.), he basically just sits there surfing the web and barking orders to everyone else! Grrr...the guy really gets to me, as well as his little lazy followers! Even worse is the fact that management lets them get away with it! Hopefully, after the acquisition is done, these folks will be told to either do their share or find other employment. ![]()
Yes, ignoring what others say does get much easier as one gets older! I've been part of this subculture since about 1985 while in middle school. I don't see me changing anything anytime soon! From what I've found, goths have been some of the more intelligent people out there. We don't just talk music...we can talk politics, religion, etc., and know what on earth we are talking about! Some of the best, civil conversations on some of the most controvercial topics I have with other goths, that I could have never had with anyone else.
