placing the bones in an ant hill,waiting, then letting the sun bleach them is a very clean way of taking care of the bones without much work or chemicals. i too used to make jewelry, i work with shells now...

I thought about it, but the owls had already digested everything but the bones and fur. I didn't figure the ants would be interested in fur, and the biggest thing was the discoloration.
Personally, I'd much rather wear something that was crafted (at least mostly) by nature.
