Its not so much that i have been hiding for i have and always will be me I think its the fact that someone saw me off post in my usalle dress and was like omg hes goth and freaked out and that they were so ignorant that they couldnt put 2 and 2 togher and see what has been staring them in the face for years. Eithor that or they were just so selk absourbed in themselves and there friends that they were just retarted untill they found out and was like o shit cause it prolly hit them like a slap in the face. Then they do the whisper thing as u stated cause they fear the unknown.

In my honest opinion, most military people are two faced. Almost all
soldiers hide behind the uniform. They are afraid to express themselves
and be seen for who they truly are. Minus the uniform. The uniform is a
symbol of security, safety and acceptance. When they wear it they are
respected for the simple fact they are a soldier. Everyone in uniform
is part of a family/team. But if one individual person branches out on
their own they are seen as "different" or "weird". Simply because they
no longer share the same interests, beliefs or dress "normal". But what
is normal? Being like everyone else in the world? There is no true
definition of normal. Every single person is different.

One of my favorite quotes is: "Accept everything about yourself -- I mean everything, You are you and
that
is the beginning and the end -- no apologies, no regrets." If you show
them the real you and they don't accept you then they never were your
true friends to begin with. A true friend will accept you for you. No
questions asked.

I firmly believe that...People that lie about
who they are, are ashamed of the truth. You have been hiding this
secret for a long time. So you have to ask yourself why. Were you
afraid of not being accepted? Afraid of not being "normal?" Only you
can answer that question. But also ask yourself if it is worth it in
the end to let your true colors show. Will you be able to handle the
looks and the whispers behind your back that instantly stop once you
enter a room? You will have to be with these people every single day.
Can you accept being an outsider when everyone around you are so alike?
If so, then by all means tell everyone the truth. If not? It might just
be easier to slip on the uniform and pretend like you are like everyone
else.

sometimes its hard to find out something that is deemed to be big. . . like a lover telling you that they're christian right before u marry. . . sometimes u must look past there anger or mistreatment and see if they are truely ignorant or just hurt that they couldn't see something that they find important. . . of course u dont have to listen to me what have i to say but  words from the point of a 14 year old
