I awoke with a start, my dreams were of the nightmarish Orcs that once invaded the lands of Azeroth through the Dark Portal which lies deep in the Black Morass and has long been destroyed. I realize now that it was a metallic like thunder that had awoken me, so I got up and went to the window and thats when I saw them thousands of them coming over the horizon. The fruit on the tree had started to rot behind her, but since she ran to catch up to the bird, she didn’t see this either. The eight horsemen did, about ten minutes after the girl had left. Before the wind blew them away, they saw her footprints leading away from the tree. The horses galloped in the direction they had led. The clouds had g... Read More
This was the first short story I put through a writing contest. It didn't win, but I liked it anyway. It draws heavily from the game Shadow of the Colossus. I put this story into a writing contest through my school in 10th grade (one of two), and I won 1st in my district (District III), but lost at...state level? I don't remember which was next. But if it won District III, it must have been semi-decent. This one was 12 pages (maximum), non-MLA. Hope you like this one too.
One more thing, if there happens to be any Catholics reading this, I'm not trying... Read More
Yes, this is in MLA format. I wrote this in Honors English 11 at school with two of my friends helping me edit. There was a four-page limit, and we were cutting sentences left and right to get it to fit, so the ending won't be as great as you would expect. We wound up being two lines over (another group had about 4 and 1/2 pages, so it was OK). The chant that's featured in this story bears the same name... Read More
