Sample time! #1. Price *NSFW warning*

A.N. Demo from my latest brain storming moment- one that was supposed to be a short but ended up as another novel in the works. Wink Enjoy and R&R please, I'd like to see how many on here would like to see this finished.

It wasn’t too bad living on the streets, like a gypsy. Sure, she’d had several years to get used to it and rarely saw the negatives. The negatives of this life were a lot more merciful that the negatives of her old life…

She leaned against the warehouse casually, the salty scent of the sea over powering the stench of the city’s filth. Sailors rarely had a huge amount of money by the time they reached the docks, but if they did they wanted two things: a drink and a woman.

She was always quick on them, sensing their emotions- selecting the least of the evils- and would get her money quick then leave.

And before her stalker could find out whom to kill…

She sighed when she sensed him. His emotions were barely muted by her barrier, a sensation that made her flesh quiver and her mind scream flee.

“What are you doing here?” She asked the shadow to her right. Though it was dark, she knew that his blond hair was the chaotic long mess it always was and that his dark eyes looked back at her in hunger. She stood fearlessly when she saw a glint of white in the moonlight.

“I’ve told you before, precious Rebecca, I’ll pay for you every night.” His voice consumed her; the deep accent it held caressed her body like a lover. When she felt his leather clad hand on her arm, her green eyes met with his now red ones.

“Sorry, Liam,” she sighed while removing his hand from her arm. She stood straight to look in his eyes, “I’m sticking to pleasing my own kind tonight, vampire.” She told him simply and turned on her heel to head closer to the docks.

When she was a block away she noticed that her footsteps were the only ones that she heard. Silently she sighed in relief, but then she felt a breeze at her back.

Liam wasn’t overly gentle as he pushed her into the shadow of an alley. She glared at him in response to the soft sting she felt on her back from being pushed against the grimy brick.

He cupped her cheek despite having a death glare aimed at him.

“Why do you go for boys when you can have so much more?” He breathed in her scent and ran a single finger down her exposed neck. “You do this just to spite me, don’t you?”

“Perhaps,” she answered coyly but while her voice was soft and timid the action of her hand was far from it. Her hand reached forward, cupping his manhood through his black jeans. Liam groaned softly, trying to keep the upper hand by caging her against the wall with a knee and arm. She smirked, “Vampire or not, you’re still a man. Answer me this, Liam, which do you want more: my blood or the feeling of filling me with your seed?”

He ground against her hand and moaned, “If you’d grant me either I’d give you whatever you desire. A home, gold, silver…” he hissed softly when she gripped him a little tight. “I’d take care of you. You’d have no want in this life ever again.”

“A one thousand year old vampire reduced to bargaining for what he wants.” She mocked him and pulled her hand away. “I’d say ‘I’m sorry’ but you know I’m not.”

His voice was rough, “I could force you.” He warned while his eyes shifted in their shade once more.

She tsked and waved a finger in front of him, “Vampire compulsion doesn’t work on an empath.”

He frowned and gripped her shoulders, “Do. Not. Test. Me.”

She smirked, “You wouldn’t desire me so much if I didn’t challenge you.”

“Rebecca, I am still every bit the Viking I was before I was turned.” He warned her lowly, his lips a breath away from hers. “You’re wearing your luck very thin.”

In the distance she heard footsteps, but they weren’t the footsteps of the sailors. She glanced out of the alley and her breath caught when she saw one of the city’s numerous gangs looking around their turf for trespassers. She broke her barrier and listened, her heart hammering when she sensed the emotions of the cops that were about to do a sting. Her body shivered when she recognized one person among the seven.

“Do I sense fear?” Liam whispered against her ear. At feeling his breath she shivered more.

She looked back at him, emerald eyes blazing, “What is your price?”

Liam blinked before his lip curled into a feral smirk. Before another word was said, she was pulled against his chest and then everything went black.

I'm aiming for Price being a Halloween release. A little bit of unholy terror, carnal cravings, and whatnot for the beloved dark holiday. I'm aiming for a few novella releases too if I get a good start (another vampire fic and then a werewolf, possible two werewolf fics). In my short story collecti...
