Blog Entry: These humans and their...interesting...behaviors. If they're supposed to be of a higher intelligence, how do they do such odd things? Some examples: -Saying "What are you doing?" when they can clearly see what another person is doing. I'm sure all of you have done that at least once. One exception: A girl I worked with during the summer (Amber) was asleep, so one of her friends (Harley, also a girl) put Amber's finger in her mouth. Amber wakes up, and the first thing she says: "Why?" In my mind, her intelligence quotient went up about 4 points. -Telling a person who lost something to "think back to where they put it last." Common sense would dictate that if the person knew where the lost object was last, then the goddamn thing wouldn't be lost in the first place, now would it? -Eating "healthy." Doing ANYTHING that's "healthy." You can't set rules or guidelines for everyone in this field. Everyone's health is individual to that person: what's good for Jane will fucking KILL Susan. Some of us need 10 hours of sleep; others need about 4. You can't set a guideline and say that 8 is the optimal amount just because it's between 4 and 10. Either way, you're going to die. Why go out of your way to be "healthy" when you're going to die just like everyone else? If you're going to eat salads and shove suppository vitamins the size of a Buick up your ass, do it because you enjoy it, not because some jackass in a suit says that you'll live longer. -Cannibalism and murder. Did you ever think that we're probably the ONLY living beings that would kill another that's of the same species for no reason? When's the last time you saw a wolf kill another wolf just cause? When's the last time you saw a gazelle eat another gazelle because all the grass was gone? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it; although some of YOU might, which brings me to another point. -The conditions of certain things. This one needs an example: People will say, "Murder is bad!" one minute, but the next time someone pisses them off, they run around screaming, "I'll kill the son of a bitch!" What happened in those few minutes? A change of heart can't have happened THAT quickly. Apparently, it was never that bad in the first place, was it? Of course, this doesn't hold true for all people. If you've been guilty of any of these things, at the very least, look back and giggle a little. I'm not forcing you to change, I just thought you might like to look at what you do on a regular basis.
